Brothership Building Gallery Window Exhibition, April 2023

  • 141 North Street Pittsfield, MA, 01201 United States (map)

The Brothership Building Window curated by Berkshire Art Center (formerly IS183 Art School of the Berkshires) will feature Florals & Fauna by Caryn King for the month of April.

Artist Statement:

After many years of painting animals in a realistic style, my new paintings are of flowers in a style that is more impressionist. With an intentional emotional use of paint and process, I find excitement in studying and interpreting flowers. As much as being inspired by their beauty and unique design, my goal is to let the process of creating a painting become a part of my finished paintings. In this way I hope my work is viewed in ways that can be individualized by the viewer and not predetermined by the reality of the still life itself.

I have continued my animal paintings now as pigment ink prints on archival paper. They are offered in two forms - mounted on wood panel ready to hang or sit on a shelf, or as flat prints ready to be framed.
