About the Show:

Living the Change Berkshires are presenting a juried exhibition of student art responding to the climate crisis. “HOW SHALL WE LIVE? Climate Visions of Berkshire Youth Artists II” will take place August 4th-30th at Berkshire Art Center, 141 North Street, Pittsfield. The opening of the show will take place on Friday, August 4th, 6:00-7:00pm, coinciding with the First Fridays Artswalk.

Berkshire County students of high school age submitted artwork in one of four subject categories:

  • What is happening? (positive or negative)

  • What is needed?

  • What would be lost?

  • Vision of the future (positive or negative)

A jury consisting of Phyllis Kornfeld, Jo Valens, Lorimer Burns and Anne Legêne selected works for the show, which is sponsored by Cooler Communities, a school grant program at the Harold Grinspoon Charitable Foundation.

Living the Change Berkshires seeks to address Climate Change and Climate Justice with urgency, creativity, hope and optimism primarily on a local level. The first “HOW SHALL WE LIVE? Climate Visions of Berkshire Youth Artists" took place in 2020 at the Berkshire Museum. Due to the pandemic it ended up being a virtual show.
