Berkshire Artist Mentor Program

Local Artists Connect with 8th Grade Students

Every child growing up in the Berkshires should know an artist and IS183 Art School of the Berkshires is working to make that goal a reality as we launch the Berkshire Artist Mentor Program (AMP).

With generous funding from Berkshire United Way, IS183’s Berkshire AMP is pairing local artists with 8th grade students from Reid and Herberg Middle Schools in Pittsfield. Our goal is for students participating in Berkshire AMP to develop a deeper connection to and awareness of the arts in our community, benefit from a positive relationship with an adult, and develop a wider lens of career choices (from curators to teaching artists); and for participating artists to develop deeper ties to our Berkshire community.

Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a mentor.
