The Hair BallSilent AuctionWalton Ford RaffleIS183 Art School's Hair Ball presents an exclusive, hair-raising opportunity to support art education in the Berkshires by participating in a raffle for the original Walton Ford study, Blue Crab. Blue Crab is a study for "False Face" (1991), one of Walton Ford's first watercolor paintings to reference natural history. Blue Crab is valued at $4,000. It measures 11 1/2" x 9" and is watercolor and graphite on paper.The New Yorker magazine recently described Ford as "dazzling" (Profile, Jan 26, 2009). Fine Art Auction Preview - Event ReCapat Mission Bar & TapasThursday, February 26th from 7 - 9pm The Fine Art Preview Thursday night was fantastic! The 22 pieces of art donated by faculty and local artists (see list of artists below) will be hanging for two weeks at Mission, so stop by to see them before the Hair Ball on March 14th. A very special thank you goes to Cindy Kelly and Rebecca Weinman who helped collect the art and to Seth Nash and Kris Anderson for hanging the pieces at Mission. Also, a BIG thank you goes to Jim Benson and his staff at Mission. Not only was the food delicious but the presentation was spectacular!
