Writing for Live Storytelling

Joan Didion says, "We tell ourselves stories in order to live." In this class, you will have the opportunity to develop new story ideas or hone existing true stories from your own lives- with the goal of presenting them out loud in front of an audience! We will listen to some exemplary stories in this vein, do some generative writing, and practice telling our stories to each other, for feedback, in preparation to perform our stories at Fuel Coffee Shop's monthly storytelling night on October 5th. While the performance aspect at the local venue will be optional, you will be encouraged to share freely during the class. Please come prepared to write, and speak! All levels of storytelling experience welcome.
