Creating Like Calder
Alexander Calder was a master of the moving sculpture, the mobile. He also created paintings, prints, jewelry and monumental sculptures. This week is all about exploring and being inspired by Calder's artwork, as we make our own! Working and learning with many different mediums and techniques, we will construct moving mobiles, wooden toys, paintings and clay sculptures.**Early Drop-Off and Late Pick-Up are available to extend the day from 8:30AM to 4:30PM. $35/week for either morning or afternoon, $65/week for both.

Camps for 8 to 10 Year Olds
Campers are guided by faculty artists to broaden their use of materials, sustain projects over multiple days, and work creatively together. More reflection and planning is encouraged, while their imaginative energy is celebrated through projects with lots of camper voice and choice!
What does the week look like?
Campers create individually and collaboratively with the guidance of a lead faculty artist and assistant. Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday mornings a visiting artist guides a project in a different media (usually clay).
9:30am-12 noon: We start the day with a morning meeting and then get busy with hands-on exploration for our morning art session.
Mid-morning: Snack break
12:00-1:00pm: Lunch and outdoor play
1:00-3:15pm: Afternoon art session
3:30: Regular pick-up
The week concludes with an art show, when campers get to share their experiences and creations with family and friends
